    BlackRock Resources is searching for an excellent Corporate Safety Manager for a client in the Chicago, IL area.

     

    Requirements:

    • 4-6 years of experience within a Manufacturing (preferable food-related) environment
    • OSHA 10 trained, OSHA 30 training is a plus
    • Must have excellent organizational skills and communication skills.
    • Bachelors degree in a safety or equivalent work experience.
    • Strong computer skills as it relates to Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.

     

    Primary responsibilities include the development and administration of plant wide safety and occupational health programs including policy statement, formation and operation of safety committees, safety surveys, supervisory and employee safety training programs, and accident investigation procedures. Coordinate with outside safety and health agencies and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal safety and health requirements.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local safety regulations.
    • Implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety and health of our employees.
    • Manage all safety policies, procedures and review all Safety Manuals on an annually basis.
    • Create and maintain a robust safety culture
    • Oversee the Corporate Safety Committee and conduct monthly safety meetings.
    • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the appropriate insurance company loss control department.
    • Coordinate monthly safety training programs.
    • Oversee the procurement program of all first-aid and safety supplies as they relate to each facility.
    • Review, train and monitor that all emergency procedures are in place at all facilities and report issues to the appropriate individuals.
    • Be an active participant on the American Bakers Association Safety Committee.
    • Be willing to travel at least once per quarter to perform safety inspections at our four facilities.
    • Lead efforts to share best practices and eliminate waste wherever possible.
    • Manage and develop OSHA related courses.
