Supply Chain Specialist - Canonsburg, PA

 

Performs tasks associated with scheduling and expediting outsource and manufactured materials to service providers. Pro-active and direct communication with service suppliers is vital. Process purchase orders and coordinate inbound and outbound material. Has cross-functional communication with Purchasing, Planning, and Operations groups. Participate in internal projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma

Associate Degree in Business or related field preferred

At least one (1) year purchasing/planning experience or coordinating service operations in a manufacturing environment

MRP or ERP software exp.  

Infor CloudSuite Industrial or Syteline experience preferred.

Possess excellent negotiation skills

Mechanical Aptitude

Travel – less than 5%

Advanced in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

 

Essential Functions

Executes Service Supplier Management processes (e.g. qualification, selection, evaluation, development, price negotiation, and quality); update UEC supplier evaluation systems to obtain the best suppliers and ensure transparency

Manages supplier relationships and works to improve “overall” supplier performance

Creates job, communicates priorities, and schedule changes to service suppliers regularly to support changes in production planning

Monitors and communicates supplier performance for delivery, quality and cost management

Coordinate dispatch of material both inbound and outbound utilizing internal and external means of transportation

Effectively manage workbench for manufactured items and strive to eliminate material bottleneck constraints

Evaluates Syteline data, weekly inventory reports, and other data resources in determining material needs.

Performs other Procurement-related administrative tasks including, but not limited to, Purchase Order generation, Invoice Discrepancy Resolution, Payment Authorizations, Compiling Statistical data and Reports

Establishes inventory requirements by studying manufacturing history and production forecasts and supplier capacities

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; learning part usage. Participate in special Kaizen projects, such as internal functional committees, as assigned

Plans work and personal development goals, working in conjunction with manager as needed

Identifies and follows-up on internal issues or requests timely, implement approved process improvements resulting in increased customer satisfaction
